North Shore Cafe Cut Sheet

The Miami Beach North Shore Cafe addition is a building infill project within an existing park facility owned and managed by the City of Miami Beach, Florida. Due to its location between two existing structures, the new building was designed in response to the varying heights of the adjacent buildings, with a sloping roof from high to low matching the building heights at each side. The overall appearance reflects a response to the project’s subtropical climate, urban setting, and community use. ADA-compliant restrooms, kitchen, and eating areas are framed with full height wall to wall windows through which natural light is filtered and views are extended toward the surrounding parkland. GLAVOVIC STUDIO selected materials and a color palette to work sympathetically with adjacent existing building conditions.
