UMA CONNECTOR

The Uma Connector will link two separate Miami Beach Art Deco district hotels with an exterior covered walkway that protects people from the rain. Bridging and unifying the two hotels through a sculptural suspended intervention that is highly visible to the public on 18th Street, the project will feature a prefabricated system of glue-laminated timber and polycarbonate, glass handrails, and energy-efficient LED lighting—combining architectural beauty with a reduced carbon footprint. The Uma Connector provides an iconic opportunity to engage the public interest through social media, while also strengthening the hospitality brand that commissioned it.
