EDGEWATER, located in the heart of Miami’s Edgewater District, is an urban infill affordable housing prototype for the AIDS Healthcare Healthy Housing Foundation. Located on a ¼ acre, within walking distance to Biscayne Boulevard, it provides residents direct access to retail and public transportation. The 75-unit building consists of a 4-story parking podium and an 8-story housing tower with wrap around balconies that harmonize with its neighbor’s scale through setting back from existing property lines. The typical floor plate provides generous common gathering areas overlooking 24th street, providing a sense of community. As AHF/HHF’s first project in the City of Miami, it will serve as a prototype for affordable housing in South Florida.
